December Tip of the Month – De-Stress the Holidays with a To-NOT-Do List
The holidays can be a wonderful time spent renewing family traditions, spending time with old friends, and focusing on the needs of others. However, the holidays can also be a time of year with insane work deadlines, too many commitments, and serious spending which may lead to a lot of unwanted stress.
This month is a good time to focus on oneself and the things held dear by creating a To-NOT-Do List:
Pinterest Overload. – That handmade gift is a wonderful thought, and you may be the craftiest-craftsman out there. But do you really have the time? So, go buy a little gift and call it good. Spend that extra time enjoying the actual holidays and the people around you.
Covet Possessions More Than Experiences. – When it comes to your holiday buying habits, you would be surprised by how much your shopping habits are influenced by “the way you’ve always done things” and by holiday advertisements. Possessions are nice, but you grow tired of them after a while. Focus on holiday experiences that can’t be taken away and have eternal value.
Overcommit Your Time. – This is not the time to be working extra hours to purchase holiday gifts, to prepare an entire Martha Stewart meal from scratch, or to volunteer for everything! Say “no” without the guilt. Decide what means the most to you during the holiday season and be the best version of yourself doing the things you love.
Committing your time to the things you hold dear to your heart during the holidays will help you de-stress. Stick to your To-Not-Do List and have a truly happy holiday season!

I love these suggestions for December especially on committing your time effectively and efficiently without feeling guilty to say “No”.
Thank you for sharing! It’s so easy to get caught up these holidays, good to look back and reflect to make good decisions and feel okay saying NO!
The PInterest Overload is such a great tip. We get caught up on making gifts so personal at times that it takes more time and energy than getting something thoughtful instead. Love this topic!
Thank you! Too often we are concerned with all of the things we have to accomplish and we neglect accomplishing good rest and a clear mind!
