Do you know where your career is steering you to? Career management is an ongoing process, critical no matter your circumstances - employed, not employed, have your own business, working in dream job, or taking a break from professional career for now. First step is to get to know yourself: personality, strengths, values, interests and purpose. Then create a career road map to get you quickly to where you are going without taking the 'scenic' route. Successful and happy professionals do not happen by accident.
Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss reasons why career management is an ongoing process
2. Identify two methods for evaluating personality traits
3. Name four parts to include on a career roadmap

Being competitive in today’s world goes far beyond a brochure and a business card. Even a static web site is no longer enough in this new era of two-way, conversational engagement. A successful, modern-day business plan involves an established presence on leading social networks, an understanding of search engine marketing, and actively blogging and Tweeting. Maybe you’ve already started your social media journey, but you want to take it to the next level. This session will help enhance your skills, polish your presence and elevate your online exposure. It will outline an action plan to maximize digital strategies to educate the public, promote your services and build your personal brand.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify digital technologies, tools and practices
2. Identify multiple applications of social media for food and nutrition professionals
3. Review food and nutrition success stories and lessons learned

Many members find networking and support by joining a local NE group. Check our mini-NE area under Members Only for locations and contact names. If there is not a group in your area, why not start your own? Our administrative assistant, Joanne Gibbons, can provide you with a list of NE members in your area for you to invite. It does not have to be a big group to be successful. Some members meet at local coffee shops, or in members homes.
Check out the mini-NE area under Members' Only to see upcoming Mini-NE events in your area! If you want to post your mini-NE groups' location and contact information on the web or in Ventures, please use our contact form to contact Joanne Gibbons, or call her at 800-861-9406 or 360-956-1367.
